My name is Keyonna. The founder of Key Glass Repair, LLC. I am a trained and certified windshield repair expert. I've obtained my certification through GlasWeld and received my Bachelor’s degree of Business from Bryant & Stratton College. We have serviced hundreds of vehicles each year in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. Based out of Virginia Beach, Virginia. Windshields sets the highest standards in the auto glass industry. BETWEEN A PIT AND A CHIP
A pit is a tiny nick in the windshield. The pit does not go deep in the inner layer of the windshield therefore it cannot be repaired because there is no way for the repair resin to adhere to the windshield and is considered wear and tear. Pits will not spread and does not need to be repaired.
A chip or crack in the windshield could be a single or several lines caused from an impact point. This impact point goes to the inner layer of the windshield and can look like any of the damages to the right. In most cases, if you have comprehensive coverage your insurance may cover the cost of the chip repair.
